ANTON EDELSHTEIN

Biography

Anton Edelshtein’s current work focuses on research‑driven object design and immersive spatial practices, grounded in a rhizomatic methodology that conceives the object as a dynamic open system shaped by context. In his MA project Extainer, he deconstructed familiar everyday artefacts, exposing their peripheral and “negative” spaces and enabling the emergence of new relational and affective interactions. This approach frames objecthood as an evolving field of potential rather than a fixed form. Earlier, Edelshtein founded OMTURA — a label of sculptural leather bags that achieved international recognition for its synthesis of materiality and conceptuality. The brand was presented in a solo exhibition at Periscope Gallery (Tel Aviv) and shown at Paris Fashion Week (2016). Edelshtein studied textile design at Shenkar College. His works have been exhibited in institutional and independent venues in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Germany, Switzerland, Israel and beyond. This trajectory, intertwining fashion, design, and philosophical reflection, has shaped the foundation of his methodology, where the artistic object is understood as a medium of experience and re‑interpretation.
